Another day is flying by.
I don't know why.
Seems as if I'm watching the every day fly
While the exceptional just get by
Because something's always wrong.
As they pick up and carry on
After a past that hurt them,
A pain that drives them,
We all grow and we can smile,
But it can only last a while
Because something's always wrong.
But we pick up and carry on.
You speak of dreams while your eyes of fear.
You know you want to get out of here.
Sometimes the way seems so clear.
But it grows so cloudy, the despair so near
Because something's always wrong.
Something's always wrong,
But you pick up and carry on.
We'll have to learn to put the past away,
Heal the wounds and enjoy the day.
Keep on walking when death blocks the way.
Remember that there's so much right
When something's always wrong
Because something's always wrong.
Something's always wrong.

Identification
What is it? What are you? They all must know.
Before you are allowed to stay or go
Names must be given, specific names, to everything high and low.
Without a name it cannot show.
When everything must be identified
Everything is so closely analyzed.
The unusual are judged the most.
Even the ignorant of the system are forced to toast
To labels and anti-obscurity.
It'll end in madness, probably.
What happened to equality?
Identify or be cast out.
Is this what we've come to be about?
All are judged for what people think they seem to be.
So many are too blind to see.
Even the lonely are not left alone.
Judges with dying minds and hearts of stone
Tell us what cannot be.
So many people too blind to see.
You may buy in, but certainly not me.
I will not be identified
By any of these people's lies.
I am not a stereotype.
I will not wear a coded stripe.
Group one, group two, then me, then you.
We won't give in no matter what they do.
To be an individual is even a label now.
Where is our place to be safe and sound?
Nothing like anyone and anything but anything.
A new song, a new song is the only one we will sing.
Unique in God's eyes, unique as a creation.
The only one I need to identify with is Him in direct relation.
Before you are allowed to stay or go
Names must be given, specific names, to everything high and low.
Without a name it cannot show.
When everything must be identified
Everything is so closely analyzed.
The unusual are judged the most.
Even the ignorant of the system are forced to toast

Forgetting Fear
Forget. Forget what holds you back.
Forget what puts you under attack.
Forget what has been wiped away
From the heart of memory.
Forget what has no baring on you now.
Forget the past that was dark and cold.
Forget what hurt you.
Forget how to fall.
Forget how to doubt.
Forget how to despair.
Forget how to do wrong.
Forget how to fear.
Forget how to be
Anything but free.
Remember all that is good.
Remember all that is lovely.
Remember how to love.
Remember how to fly.
Forget how to die.

Blatant Caprice
Once upon a time so real
You told me what you hated to feel.
Something that claimed your heart to steal
The love that could have been there.
Now I know a taste of your pain,
You're reason for the lack of gain,
You're refusal to consider being sane.
It is hard to forgive without a reason.
Thanks to you I know this now.
Such irony has now endowed
Me with an insight not to vow
That I would never do the same as you.
As you once said it's very hard
To without reason, put down guard,
Open heart and move forward.
To forgive without a reason.
I told you that you were a fool.
I said that there must be some rule
That condemned your soul's resilient duel
But now I know I spoke to soon.
After you've ripped me up and spit me out
I'm sure now without a doubt
That it's a struggle all throughout
To forgive without a reason.
This is why I tell you this,
A point I should not ever miss.
Though it may seem ludicrous
It's only right to forgive you now.
I cannot with my own heart
But by the power of the One who gave me start.
By His grace I forgive in part
Also in hope that you may do the same.
BE FREE, BROKEN SON. SUFFER NO MORE.
MY RESENTMENT NO LONGER SITS AT YOUR DOOR.
MAY YOURS NOT OWN YOU LIKE IT DID BEFORE.
May you find God's grace and forgive as He does.
You told me what you hated to feel.
Something that claimed your heart to steal
The love that could have been there.
Now I know a taste of your pain,
You're reason for the lack of gain,
You're refusal to consider being sane.
